Skill Level Progression:
Basic skills, no contact.
Positional blocking & pushing only / light contact.
"Full contact" eligible with skill evaluations.
Upcoming Boot Camps: look under the 'Get Involved' tab to sign up for a junior derby 101 boot camp, held 2x/year! Participants will learn basic derby skills in a structured, progressive format. This boot camp is limited to 10 participants!

Be between 5 and 17 years of age;
Have a parent or legal guardian sign a waiver relinquishing Hellgate Roller Derby, Inc. (HRD) and its practice facility of liability;
Provide proof of personal health insurance coverage or JRDA accident coverage;
Sign and abide by the League’s Code of Conduct; and
Join the HRD Google Chat platform, where all league communication takes place.

Are you looking to be more involved in your junior's roller derby life? We could use your help! Our league is completely run by volunteers, and we're always looking for help with running bouts, organizing fundraising events, and recruiting new members, etc.
We work with our adult team to keep the league running and make bouts/games happen! When our juniors play a home game, the adult team will coach the juniors, Referee, Officiate, and run all the other behind the scenes tasks (merch table, bar, etc). We trade spots when it's time for the adult team to play. So having involved volunteers is vital!
Reach out to a coach or committee head if you would like to learn how to officiate (on or off skates) or if you'd like to run or be on a committee (membership, training, merch, etc). There's always something to do and we'd love your help!

Pay monthly dues of $45 by the 5th of each month;
Attend a minimum of 6 practices per month;
Provide required equipment for yourself;
Join and actively participate in at least one league committee;
Perform a minimum of two (4) league volunteer and/or committee hours per month;
Attend quarterly All Member Meetings (January, April, July, October); and
Participate in league elections.

Purchase a punch card to participate in practices; or
Pay a drop-in fee for each practice attended.
Non-competing members are not held to good standing requirements and do not have voting privileges.

Dues, punch cards, and drop-in fees are not required; however, members who choose to pay will have voting privileges.
Coaches must be approved by the Head Coach and Head of Training.
